Christmas concert goes with a swing

This year our Christmas Concert gave us the opportunity to showcase 'THE VOICE', one of the lunchtime enrichment activities. Years 7 and 8 performed an a capella 'Carol of the Bells' and they also worked with the College Singers to perform a new song, written for St. Mary's Primary School during Primary Liaison visits this term.

Year 9 performed a medley from the Christmas film Polar Express. Well done to the performers, many of whom sang solos despite having never performed in front of a live audience before.

The College Singers showcased their harmony skills, singing You're Amazing. The finale included a collaboration of all three choirs performing Gary Barlow's hit (written for the Queen's Jubilee), Sing.  A small ensemble of College musicians also supported the carols for the concert.

The Year 12 BTEC Performing Arts students performed their pantomime, Alice in Wonderland. Quite an unusual idea for a pantomime but Year 12 really pulled it off! Part of their 'Performing to an Audience Unit', they will be touring the pantomime around primary schools in the local area. Well done to all who took part for creating a wonderfully festive evening.
